What makes Basepoint stand out above other business centres?
Basepoint Business Centres are dedicated to supporting SMEs and start-up businesses and in addition to our range of business services we aim to provide the right infrastructure and environment which encourages and nurtures business growth not only within our centres but also in local business community. All our business centres organise free networking events which can help new businesses to meet vital contacts who will help grow and develop their business.
Can you tell us a bit about The Networking Hub?
We host our B2B Networking hub events on a bi-monthly basis and this gives us the opportunity to engage with a number of external partners and also give the opportunity for our current licensees to network with other local businesses as well as taking in an informative and entertaining guest speaker. We have had a wide range of guests talk
about a range of diverse subjects, most recently we had Gold medal-winning Paralympian Andy Lewis along to talk about his very personal story and his journey to becoming the Para-triathlon Champion at the Rio Paralympics in September 2016.
We understand that you’re planning to refurbish some of your office space, can you tell us more?
Yes, Basepoint Chepstow will be undergoinga large scale refurbishment to its meeting roomand break out areas over the next few months.
We will be expanding our office space for anumber of licensees and improving the facilities offered to our clients by installing new kitchenette areas on the second and first floors as well as moving the meeting room and breakout to the ground floor for ease of access for both licensee staff and the Basepoint management team.
We know that Basepoint proactively supports many charities – can you tell us a bit about this – and who is your chosen charity for 2016/2017?
The Basepoint company is owned and operated by the ACT Foundation charity that was formed in 1994 and provides grants to individuals and other charities, principally in the UK, with the aim of enhancing the quality of life for people in need, particularly those who have a physical or mental disability or the aged.
Each Basepoint centre is given the opportunity to nominate and support a chosen charity for the year and get involved with its fundraising activities as well as match funding these events to a maximum of £10,000 for the year. To date, Basepoint Chepstow has been associated with St David’s Hospice Care and will, by the end of April 2017, have donated £30,000 to the charity through match funding a range of fundraising activities including the Dalmatian Bike Ride and
the Transporter Bridge Abseil, both of which have had direct participation from Basepoint and its licensees.
Any plans for the future?
Basepoint are planning an expansion of the company over the next five years and are looking at a range of business centres across the country, both new build and acquisition. It’s a very exciting time to be part of the Basepoint journey.
