Voice’s Salon of the Month is Michael & Alexander, an official Goldwell Salon located at Sterling House in Old Cwmbran.
It is run and owned by partners Michael and Alexander, who share a combined experience of 22 years within the trade – both being Toni & Guy trained.
The gentlemen opened their salon in the summer of 2017, completely renovating the first floor of Sterling House to accommodate their needs, creating a stylish and chic venue in which their clients feel welcome and relaxed.
Michael & Alexander caters for all aspects of hairdressing for men, women and children, being specialists with children and adults with autism.
“Our goal was to be a real hairdressing salon for real people,” Michael told Voice.
“Anyone and everyone is more than welcome here, we’re not ‘cliquey’ and you don’t have to meet a certain standard to sit in our chairs.
“We’re very fortunate to have built up a long list of loyal clientele, so much so that we’ve had to expand by knocking down a wall and utilising an extra room.
“With the addition of new space, we’re looking to expand the team with all abilities accepted, from apprentices to highly skilled stylists – just pop in and say hi with your CV. We’re currently working on our own range of products too, which is quite exciting, with an established company in Australia – we look forward to offering this to our clients very soon!”
The team predicts the must-have look for men this year is longer hair and long bobs for women, with balayage still being incredibly popular.
As well as specialising in cuts for people on all aspects of the autism spectrum, this professional team are also renowned for their prom updos and bridal hair – simply book in for a consultation and trial and watch them work their magic.
As their loyal customers already know, Michael & Alexander offers a loyalty scheme, where for every six stamps collected, you can get your next cut half price.
So, if you want to visit an ultra-modern salon that is forward thinking with people in mind, make your way Michael & Alexander this February.
